Starring Sam Riley, Andrea Riseborough, Helen Mirren, John Hurt & Andy Serkis
OPENS ON AUGUST 26, 2011
In NYC at the Angelika Theater & Lincoln Plaza Cinemas
In LA at The Landmark Theater-Los Angeles
Screenwriter Rowan Joffe's debut feature BRIGHTON ROCK embraces the classic elements of film noir and the British gangster film to tell the story of Pinkie, a desperate youth who is hell bent on clawing his way up through the ranks of organized crime.
When a young and very innocent waitress, Rose, stumbles on evidence linking him to a revenge killing, he sets out to seduce her to secure her silence.
The film stars up-and-coming British actors Sam Riley (CONTROL, ON THE ROAD) and Andrea Riseborough (MADE IN DAGENHAM, NEVER LET ME GO) as the young couple.
Veterans Helen Mirren and John Hurt co-star as two friends who set out to save Rose from Pinkie's deviant designs.
BRIGHTON ROCK is based on the iconic 1939 Graham Greene novel of innocence and evil but the action has been updated to 1964 Britain, the year the Mods and the Rockers were rioting across the South Coast. The 60s were also the era of the great British gangster, the kind of working class hero, the frightened and ambitious Pinkie longs to be.

(REMAKE-itis ALERT)-CLASH OF THE TITANS getting redo!!!
(Reported by Variety)
Louis Leterrier to direct 'Titans'
Remake will get April 2, 2010 release
[Source: www.Variety.com/Story By MICHAEL FLEMING]-Steve Norrington will direct "Clash of the Titans," the remake of the 1981 mythical adventure that is best remembered for Ray Harryhausen's visual effects that brought to life Medusa, the Kraken and other creatures.
Warner Bros. studios has signed "The Incredible Hulk" director Louis Leterrier to direct its remake of "Clash of the Titans."
In "Clash of the Titans," Perseus, the son of Zeus, must overcome a series of obstacles to save his beloved Princess Andromeda, including cutting off the serpent-tressed head of Medusa, who can turn a man to stone with a single glance.
The original 1981 "Clash of the Titans" starred Harry Hamlin as Perseus and Laurence Olivier as Zeus, while the remake will feature the same roles played by actors Sam Worthington ("Avatar") and Liam Neeson ("Taken") respectively.
Remake also utilizes model-turned-actress Alexa Davalos along with British stalwarts Ralph Fiennes, Nicholas Hoult, rising BBC star Gemma Arterton ("Tess of the D'urbervilles").
Remake is expected to use the greenscreen techniques that gave "300" a complex look at a reasonable budget.
Warner essentially greenlit "Clash of the Titans" right after landing Leterrier. WB is co-financing and co-producing the film with Thomas Tull’s Legendary Pictures.
French helmer Leterrier rose from second unit director of "The Transporter" to direct "Transporter 2" and "Danny the Dog" before helming "The Incredible Hulk" for Marvel Studios and Universal.
