DADDY LONGLEGS
OPENS MAY 14th IN NEW YORK

DADDY LONGLEGS is Josh and Benny Safdie's autobiographical fairy tale and bittersweet comedy about the responsibilities of parenthood.
After months of being alone, sad, busy, sidetracked, free, lofty, late and away from his kids, Lenny (FROWNLAND's Ronald Bronstein) picks his kids up from school. Every year he spends of couple of weeks with his sons Sage and Frey (real life brothers Sage and Frey Renaldo, sons of Sonic Youth guitarist Lee Ranaldo) during which he juggles his kids and everything else within a small NYC studio apartment.
He cherishes these days with the kids, being both stern parent and lovable buddy, inventing myths and somehow living them, all while working overtime in the big city. During these two weeks, a trip upstate, visitors from strange lands, a mother, a girlfriend, "magic" blankets, and complete lawlessness seem to take over their lives.
The film is a swan song to excuses and irresponsibility; to fatherhood and self-created experiences; and to what it's like to be truly torn between being a child and being an adult.
With a fluid style, the Safdie brothers (whose previous credits include the acclaimed THE PLEASURE OF BEING ROBBED) capture the magic of parenthood, invoking memories of their inventive dad from their own childhood.
The film also stars Eleonore Hendricks and Leah Singer.
