ANYTHING ELSE
When you shoot two films a year you're bound to make a dud now and then - this is one of them!
2 stars (out of 4) [(2003)US-France-Netherlands-UK] - (1 hr. 48 min.)
Directed & written by Woody Allen
Character/Cast
David Dobel - Woody Allen
Jerry Falk - Jason Biggs
Amanda - Christina Ricci
Partial Review:
Least satisfying Woody Allen film to come out in a very long time, mainly due to Jason Biggs' ("American Wedding") inability to adapt himself to the 'nebbish' persona that IS Woody Allen (Biggs is Allen's cipher in the film).
Very uneven overall, and only diehard 'Woody-fans' should even attempt to rent the eventual DVD release. Remember, the more of you who stay away from the theatrical release the sooner it'll hit the rental shelves.
So STAY AWAY, and go see ANYTHING else (if you know what I mean)!!!
Supporting cast:
Harvey - Danny DeVito
Paula - Stockard Channing
Brooke - KaDee Strickland
Bob - Jimmy Fallon
Connie - Erica Leerhsen
Psychiatrist - William Hill
Dr. Reed - David Conrad
Ray Polito - Adrian Grenier
Herself - Diana Krall
[This one could probably use a re-watch just to make sure it was really that bad/check back later]
